Turkey tail, also known as the Coriolus, is a polyporus fungus that grows on dying trees and decaying logs or stumps in temperate forests all over the world. It gets its name from the resemblance it bears to the tail of a wild turkey. Records of its first use date back to the 15th century, during the Ming Dynasty in China. 

It is one of the most extensively researched (medicinal) mushrooms. In Japan and China drugs derived from Turkey Tail are used to aid the body in the treatment of certain diseases. Its active components have great impact on viral diseases, but are also present in a licensed cancer treatments used in China and Japan. Due to EU legislation it is not allowed to make claims about all the possible benefits of medicinal mushrooms, including Turkey Tail.


Main active components

This is a full spectrum extract made from the fruiting body of the mushroom. It has very high levels of polysaccharides beta glucan, krestin and peptide.*
