Chaga

CHAGA
Inonotus Obliquus

The medicinal or therapeutic use of Chaga has a long history. Traditionally it was a  remedy used in the treatment of various diseases, to boost immunity and aid in overall health. Chaga is a wood-decaying polypore fungus and it grows in the forests of Northeastern Europe, Scandinavia, Russia and North America. It grows on the birch of trees which is also where it gets most of its nutrients from.

Throughout Canada several indigenous tribes like the Cree, the Ojibway and the Denesuline used Chaga as medicine.
